Will is getting settled in at Gaylord and he is doing extremely well in his vent weaning. They are wonderful and they got him out of bed and into a wheel chair yesterday for 2 hours. He hadn't been out of bed since the accident so it was really wonderful to see him sitting up. He is also breathing completely on his own for increasing periods of time each day (vent machine is completely off)! Today he did a full 8 hours off the machine and tomorrow they are going to push him even harder. They want him to do two 8 hour sessions. He is also doing some physical therapy now in his room a little each day to work on his neck and shoulders.
Will has a very long road ahead of him but he is working very hard and he is not giving up. We want to thank everyone for all the prayers and support. No matter what the doctors say with God, family, friends and all the love and support we just know Will will continue to make progress.
We posted a picture of one of the gardens they have here (hoping to get Will out to see it soon).
Love,
Marcia
