Mi shebeirach - A prayer for healing (Hebrew)

Mi shebeirach Avoteinu m'kor ha-bracha L'imoteinu.
May the Source of Strength Who blessed the ones before us, help us find the courage to make our lives a blessing, and let us say, Amein.

Mi shebeirach imoteinu m'kor ha-bracha l'avoteinu.
Bless those in need of healing with refuah shleimah, the renewal of body, the renewal of spirit, and let us say, Amein.

Transition Update

Transitions to new facilities don't always go as smoothly as one would hope and transitions on weekends are especially challenging. Now add to that variable a holiday week and even more challenges to overcome. The staff at Chelsea Place are caring and extremely dedicated to William's care, but it seems our sudden arrival was ahead of some of the things that needed to be in place.  On Saturday, shortly after our arrival there, when we were all totally overwhelmed, William told us that he felt he has destroyed our family. His younger brother quickly retorted, "no you didn't, you made us stronger."  Indeed, it is true. Our family is living proof of the saying "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger." William's OT and PT began on Monday and they are using electrical stimulation to see if some of his muscle groups can be awakened. We are very happy to see this therapy put into use as we have read very positive things about this approach. Thank you again to the wonderful staff of Chelsea Place for your concern and compassion.  Happy 4th of July!

  1. I am SOOOOO happy to see that Chelsea Place has ACP (Accelerated Care Plus) which is the only company that has PENS (Patterned Electrical Nerve Stimulation). That will be so helpful to Will's recovery. It looks like they are using something called MFAC or Russian estim in the video. Hopefully they are just checking for muscle function and will be switching to PENS. MFAC is great but the PENS is so much better for waking up connections between muscles/nerves and the brain via the spinal cord. I am just excited he is getting any estim because so many places don't use it so any is better than none. Don't be afraid to ask them if they will be doing PENS (gets alot more muscle groups at one time than just MFAC too). I can't wait to see the results he gets from that. Go Will and stay strong everyone!
