Mi shebeirach - A prayer for healing (Hebrew)

Mi shebeirach Avoteinu m'kor ha-bracha L'imoteinu.
May the Source of Strength Who blessed the ones before us, help us find the courage to make our lives a blessing, and let us say, Amein.

Mi shebeirach imoteinu m'kor ha-bracha l'avoteinu.
Bless those in need of healing with refuah shleimah, the renewal of body, the renewal of spirit, and let us say, Amein.

Guess who is really alert and no longer in a weird rotating bedddddddd? WILLIAM!

When I got to the hospital around 230 he was fast asleep and probably really sedated because he didn't wake up when I rubbed his head.  Marcia and I then sat and chit chatted with other families until Brian arrived.

Around 530 a nurse called Marcia to tell her to go see her son for something exciting. HE IS IN A NORMAL BED, WIDE AWAKE, AND ATTEMPTING TO SPEAK!  He made some inquiries about his breathing machines (which took 4 people and a lot of guessing to figure out).  Then he asked for some water which isn't allowed yet because swallowing is still an unknown.

I found it funny that the nurse wanted him to watch Friends and he refused over and over so they put on History Channel.  Nurses radio pick today was 104.1 and not 100.5 so he was excited for good music.

He knows about his blog, and made a very impressed face when I told him there were baby pictures of us.  He almost killed me with his glare when I asked him if he wanted to make out with the nurse (who was in his face trying to read his lips), and totally remembered his visitors from yesterday.  All in all today was the best day yet.  He can totally communicate with his eyes and will slowly learn communication with the traich.

Brian is going to figure out a method of typing with a bite stick on the Ipad so that Will doesn't get so frustrated with our inability to understand him.  The fact that he was sedated for so long with the tubes down his throat, he has a killer sore throat and his mind moves faster than his mouth can.  We will get him there though, that is a promise!

I thought that since he's so awake we could send another round of CareGrams.  This time let's make them full of great memories and/or funny. Maybe starting with: "Remember the best time ever when we..."  He could use a laugh and a hello from his friends and family.  Keep them positive, like you have.

Ok!

Blog to you later!

Love,
Gayle
